Sorry for not updating in awhile. I've been swamped with work, school, physical therapy, and various other life demands. It's been 3-4 weeks since my last post.
During that time, I've been mainly off Soylent.
Soylent was easy to fit into my lunch schedule; however, I found that my consumption of it was not consistent enough to warrant further blog posts. Work provided lunches, social circumstances, and poor timing have prevented me from being a more consistent Soylent drinker. I don't have anyone to blame but myself. To be frank though, I haven't missed Soylent. I haven't gained or lost any weight since stopping Soylent, and haven't been too careful with what I ate. My main food criteria, as of late, has been tastiness.
When I resume my weight loss endeavor, it will probably be without Soylent. Soylent, although convenient, didn't create a noticeable relative to what I could get with normal foods. In fact, I think it makes it more difficult when there is a calorie deficit. At $3 a glass, it's not much cheaper either. With a salad, you still have some tastiness. Soylent aims to be neutral, which is fine. For me, someone who eats because things because they are tasty, I'd rather enjoy tasty while I'm on a calorie deficit.
In the end, Soylent is a great product; however, it's not the product for me. This little exercise has thought me more about my desires from food. Although, Soylent didn't work for me, maybe it will work for you, whatever your goals are.
